Academic authorship and Bibliography#

The online material presented above has been developed to be used during my presential classes. Programming has very well stablished teaching methodologies for computer science purposes; but, I it is still an enfant terrible in molecular biology labs: there is no such a unique way to learn how to analyze biomedical-experimental-data using computers. Nevertheless, there are many good books covered by the experience of their authors. Also, python-libraries developed for biology, like Biopython -out of the scope of this course-.

I have not reinvented the wheel. The way of presenting concepts can be found is some books; some of the examples have been adapted and some are new. So I strongly recommend the books I have been using for preparing the classes, see below.

If you want to learn more, my advice is to buy and study them. As soon as you have some expertise, put your programming in practice and work with real-biological-data. In the case you are interested, I could guide you in an interesting bioinformatics’ project; ask me about availability.
