Welcome to Fasta Herder, a web server to cull out redundant protein sequences from a set of sequences. Fasta Herder works by finding and clustering together protein homologs in a fasta file that have similar lengths. We are the Computational Biology and Data Mining Group, lead by Prof.Dr.Miguel Andrade, at IMB Mainz (Germany). Fasta Herder was developed by Carol Perez-Iratxeta, at OHRI Ottawa (Canada), in 2014. It featured mode 1. Fasta Herder 2 was developed by Pablo Mier, at IMB Mainz (Germany), in 2015. It features modes 1, 2, 3 and 4.
