In this example, we used as query a set of Mef2A proteins. By default, the multiple sequence alignment of all of them is displayed below (tag "Raw results"), with their homorepeats showcased in different colors. Clicking in the tag "Clustered results", one can see the clustered results, and the sequences correctly clustered all together (all of them are Mef2A proteins). To cluster the sequences, we used the standalone version of FastaHerder2 (PMID: 26828375), using a threshold of a minimum of 25% identity in the clusters. The polyQ (in blue) and the polyP (in red) regions have varied in length during their evolution, while the polyS regions (in pink, C-terminal) have maintained the same sequence in all of these orthologs ("SLSSSSSS"; it can be seen in the table below with the information of polyS). |
